About Us

OUR MISSION:

Groundworkz Central, Inc. is a North Carolina 501c(3) organization devoted to enriching and strengthening the youth in the community by providing public awareness services, mentorship, and engaging an active hand to promote civic and social growth.

Groundworkz Central, Inc. was established in March 2013, when a group of childhood friends from Charlotte, NC decided they wanted to make a change and give back to the community. Their goal was to enrich the youth in the community, by offering support and resources that youth may not otherwise have access to. A recent report entitled “Charlotte’s Economic Recovery Struggles to Take Hold” by the University of Charlotte’s Urban Institute found minority families have been hit the hardest by poverty. As a result, the youth living in poverty are deemed “less likely to succeed”.
